Zenitar 16mm f/2.8 edge sharpness

Edge sharpness
Article text
Even the best lenses struggle to give their best results at the corners of a full-frame camera. So it's no surprise that the Zenitar won't win any sharpness contests at wide apertures. At f/2.8 they are very soft, and they are only a little better at f/4.
But like the centre, the results from F/5.6 down to f/16 are pretty reasonable, with only the extreme corners still looking a little soft. At f/22 the edge sharpness is a close match the centre, but overall the results are softer than f/11 as the effects of diffraction take their toll on the sharpness.
