Along with the wide sandy beach at the mouth of the River Ogmore, close to the large car park, there are also plenty of more interesting, rocky areas just a short walk east along the coast path. The main car park is huge, so if you are looking for the rocks drive to the end furthest from the entrance, which is also often the easiest place to find a space during the summer.
The shore faces south west, so it's best visited for sunset, and the tidal range is pretty large, so check that the tide is high unless you want a long walk to the sea.
