Fairy Pools, Glenbrittle

Article text

Located on the north side of the Cuillins, you can reach this magical location by taking the A863 from Sligachan, then after around 5 miles turn left onto the B8009 signposted to Carbost and Glenbrittle. After just under 2 miles you need to turn left again, this time onto a minor road signposted to Glenbrittle. You follow this road for around 4 miles, which can be narrow in places, until you reach the Fairy Pool car park on the right (just after a sweeping right hand bend).
From the car park the path towards the Cuillins on the opposite side of the road is pretty obvious, and as long as it’s clear you’ll see the mountains rising majestically in the distance. This path is generally pretty easy to follow, and you’ll soon find yourself following the River Brittle, where after a little bit of a climb you’ll find a series of cascades, waterfalls and pools.
