Llyn Llydaw, Snowdonia

Located around half-way along the Miner's Track (one of the paths up Snowdon), Llyn Llydaw is one of those magical landscape locations that I return to again and again. You can park at the large pay and display car park at Pen-y-pass on the A4086 Llanberis road, but it gets very busy during the day so you may struggle to find a space.
The Miner's Track is a reasonably easy route, but has a couple of steep sections, and it takes around 30-40 minutes to reach the lake. The whole area is full of photo potential, though, so you may find yourself stopping along the way!
I prefer to visit at sunrise, which makes walking there in the dark an interesting experience, especially as the weather is what you might call 'changeable', even when the forecast is good.
